Article Submissions Policy
We accept articles from current law students, legal practitioners, and legal faculty. Articles may be submitted via ExpressO or by email to submissions.lapilj@gmail.com.
We will be accepting submissions for Volume 2 until July 1, 2009 and reviewing thereafter.
Substantive Guidelines: Articles should discuss an original social justice topic or add a fresh perspective on an existing topic in this arena. Priority will be given to articles that a) are useful to practitioners (i.e. litigation or advocacy strategies, policy, etc.), b) focus on current or emerging issues in the Greater Los Angeles region and/or c) are relevant to or enhance the knowledge of the region's practitioners.
Technical Guidelines: Articles should be no longer than 50 pages, double-spaced, 1" margins, in 12 point Times New Roman font. All citations should be in Bluebook format and should be in the form of footnotes. An abstract of the article is required (please include in the beginning of the article).
LAPILJ is an open-submission journal. We welcome original articles on any social justice topic from professors, practitioners, and students.
The Los Angeles Public Interest Law Journal is edited by law students from Loyola Law School, Pepperdine University School of Law, UCLA School of Law, and USC Gould School of Law. Its present mailing address is at the office of the student-run Public Interest Law Foundation of Loyola Law School.
