Publication Information
About LAPILJ: Founded in 2007, the Los Angeles Public Interest Law Journal (LAPILJ) is the only organization dedicated to the documentation, dissemination, and promotion of public interest scholarship by practitioners and advocates in Los Angeles. We are an independent collaboration of students from Loyola, Pepperdine, UCLA, and USC who seek to provide a local forum for law students, practitioners, and community members to share and generate ideas, strategies, and research that promote social justice. We are a project of Community Partners, the leading non-profit incubator in Southern California.
Acknowledgments: The Volume 1 Editorial Board would like to acknowledge Joshua Adams, the founder of LAPILJ, as well as founding board members Matthew Grace, Rebecca Husman, and Maya Roy. We would also like to recognize Nate Madsen and Rachel Rossi for their contributions to LAPILJ activities. In addition, we would like to thank Professors Sande Buhai, Scott Cummings, Niels Frenzen, and Kathleen Kim for serving as faculty advisors to the Journal this year. Sande Buhai; Howrey LLP, Latham & Watkins LLP; Loyola Law School; O’Melveny & Myers LLP; Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP; Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP; UCLA Public Interest Law Program; and USC Gould School of Law provided the contributions that made this publication possible. Finally, we would like to thank Cindy Bendat for allowing us to use her photo pro bono.
